“Mom, I don’t feel good” [horrible vomiting noise and splatter]…

Lovely way to start a day off. Four hours later I’ve cleaned puke from the floor of Dillon’s bedroom, the hallway, and the bathroom. The good news is that he’s not sick, he just has this low blood sugar thing I’ve had since I was a kid, if you don’t eat enough for dinner BEWARE the next morning. The bad news is I hadn’t made him pick up all his Legos last night, so it adds some interesting detail work to the clean up process.

I’m kind of surprised it was such a mess, actually. He’s usually pretty good about making it into the bathroom at least. The thing about this condition, you get to be a puking pro by the time you’re four or five. I’ve become self-aware enough to feel when I am going that direction and eat some peanut butter and a glass of milk before I go to bed, and in the worst cases these days a glass of juice will pull me back from the brink in the morning. Dillon seems to react quite differently and my efforts to get some sugar/water into him in the morning generally result in projectile vomiting.

Looking at the bright side of this morning, though, the bathroom and hallway floors probably needed to be washed anyway… This just provided me the motivation to get started.
